Made for More:What are you Fanning?

Jonah 3:1-2 " 1And the word of the Lord came unto Jonah the second time, saying, 2Arise, go unto Nineveh, that great city, and preach unto it the preaching that I bid thee."

The Word of the Lord came to Jonah!

Last semester we ended with the message Fan the Flame and how it is important that we dig a little deeper in our relationship with our savior. He wants to use us but we must fan our flame.

As we start the semester, we must take a step back and ask ourselves what are we fanning.

The reason so many have lost their flame is because they have lost their connection to their "What". 

The What = Gift of God

We have to be careful that we are not fanning our ego or our wants and needs but we must fan the gift of God.

2 Timothy 1:6-7 "6Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands. 7For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

God has given each of us a gift, and it's our job to unlock our gifts.

1 Peter 4:10 "10As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.

The first thing we must do is have faith and believe we have gifts from God because we can not operate in our gifts if we do not believe. 

1 Corinthians 12:7-8 "7Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good. 8To one there is given through the Spirit a message of wisdom, to another a message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit"

Our gift needs to be birthed out and not for our own good but for the kingdom of God.
