Hi! My name is Jesus
Matthew 16:13-15(NiV)
13 When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, “Who do people say the Son of Man is?” 14 They replied, “Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets.” 15 “But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?”
Matthew 16:16-17 (NiV)
16 Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God. 17 Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by my Father in heaven.
Who do you say that Jesus is?
Jesus as our Lord and Savior is the foundation where we see him as.
Jesus as Lord is recognizing the lordship of him. We recognize his authority and respect him as the head, but when we recognize him at a submitted posture we see him as the master of everything.
With being in a submitted posture we are his servants. The benefit of knowing him from a submitted posture is that as one of his vessels he wants to pour into us his holy spirit.
Jesus as savior is recognizing the fact that he saved us from whatever we have gone through in life. Seeing him as the person that has given us another chance.
But is that all that he is?
