Made for More: Evangelism
Luke 14:16-23
16'Jesus replied: “A certain man was preparing a great banquet and invited many guests. 17At the time of the banquet he sent his servant to tell those who had been invited, ‘Come, for everything is now ready.’ 18“But they all alike began to make excuses. The first said, ‘I have just bought a field, and I must go and see it. Please excuse me.’ 19“Another said, ‘I have just bought five yoke of oxen, and I’m on my way to try them out. Please excuse me.’ 20“Still another said, ‘I just got married, so I can’t come.’ 21“The servant came back and reported this to his master. Then the owner of the house became angry and ordered his servant, ‘Go out quickly into the streets and alleys of the town and bring in the poor, the crippled, the blind and the lame.’ 22“‘Sir,’ the servant said, ‘what you ordered has been done, but there is still room.’ 23“Then the master told his servant, ‘Go out to the roads and country lanes and compel them to come in, so that my house will be full.'
God is trying to fill his house and there is still room to tell others to come to him.
After the fall of man, sin separated us from God and the sins that we commit are not free.
Romans 6:23
23'For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.'
We have to take the big truth (God’s word) and condense it when we witness to others, because we may not have a lot of time to spend sharing with them.
God made it very easy for our sins to be forgiven and we must never take advantage of that.
Evangelism- The announcement, proclamation and or preaching of the gospel. The communication in either verbal or written form.
We are made for more work!
Many people don’t know that they are lost and it’s our job to tell them.
We must tell people about Christ and bring them to the kingdom. Jesus is the invitation.
He wants us, even when we feel no one else does. We must stop seeking other things and seek him.
He will reward us for doing his work.
1 Corinthians 3:8
8'The one who plants and the one who waters have one purpose, and they will each be rewarded according to their own labor. '
Romans 10:13
13'for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” '
Now pray and ask God how can he use you on campus, how can he use you on your job, or how can he use you in other parts of your daily life. It’s time to get intentional about doing his work and bringing souls to the kingdom. There are many lost and we must help show them the way to Christ.
