Made for More: Holiness
Be careful which lap you choose to rest in
God can’t fill us when we have holes. This means we cannot be fully committed to him.
Reference Scriptures: Judges 13:24, 14:2-8, 16:1-5
We should never compromise.
It sneaks up on us, we don’t realize when we do it sometimes and we allow our flesh to speak louder.
When we compromise there is block/shut down and we become spiritually unconscious.
When we are spiritually unconscious that’s when compromise takes place. When it takes place, we are more unconscious, and we don’t realize how disconnected we are.
Holy living allows us to be connected.
1 Peter 1:13-16
13"So prepare your minds for action and exercise self-control. Put all your hope in the gracious salvation that will come to you when Jesus Christ is revealed to the world. 14So you must live as God’s obedient children. Don’t slip back into your old ways of living to satisfy your own desires. You didn’t know any better then. 15But now you must be holy in everything you do, just as God who chose you is holy. 16For the Scriptures say, “You must be holy because I am holy.”"
1st level of compromise
· What we are in the presence of and what we allow to get close enough to touch.
· We become comfortable where we are
When your too close you can’t tell the difference anymore.
At this point we are experiencing God’s grace and that only goes but so far.
Romans 6:1-2
1"Well then, should we keep on sinning so that God can show us more and more of his wonderful grace? 2Of course not! Since we have died to sin, how can we continue to live in it?"
We mistake God’s grace as its ok that we did things we were not supposed to do, and we become comfortable there. It became a good place to rest.
To be there means it’s far from GOD and where he called us to be.
Holiness is right, we have a mandate over our lives.
A dangerous place to be is where we go off how we feel, and it determines if we are right or wrong.
Natural blindness keeps us stuck
God wont fully use us because there are cracks in our foundation. Our hearts don’t fully belong to him, he is not our only options.
We must stop operating under grace, it can’t be the only time we see GOD move.
If we lived according to the mandate over our lives and steward the walk we should see the glory fall and our hands will be clean to catch.
He can’t pour his glory on to things with holes, we have been holey not holy. He wants our complete and whole yes.
Available- Yes, I am prepared for service but also available for anything else.
Sold Out- No longer in use for anything else other than the things I am sold out for.
Our flesh is familiar to us and it is always comfortable to be there because that is all we know.
When God calls us, we take out safety blanket (sin) and we then enter this cycle.
He wants to bring us back to consciousness of him where doing what is right is the way to life.
We must realize when the glory of God has left us, so we can go back to do our first works over.
We must be spiritually awake and not relying on grace.
He wants us to make a choice, either we are all in or we must get out the way.
Holiness requires a sacrifice and there are things we must give up
He is calling for holiness and that is a lifestyle that is acceptable unto the lord and when living holy, we wouldn’t have to battle with ourselves.
The things we won’t release unto God is serving as a wait, pressure, and a yoke that was restricting so much so that we almost miss him.
God wants to make an exchange, and when we do release our compromises he will seal those places.
We must also realize that at that point, it would be detrimental to go back and open it up. It will cause us to be blind and miss God when you need him the most. It is sad to be there and not know when our help is right there.
He wants all of us and his communion with us again. We can’t see his face because we aren’t clean and can’t experience him because we are filled with things we were not supposed to touch. He wants us to get what he has for us, destiny is so far because we allowed life to get in the way.
He wants our uncomfortable yes, our total surrender. The things we done and what happened was not ok, but he wants to correct us here, and we move on. He does not want us to come back to the place of compromise.
God wants us HOLY and WHOLE for him!
